Hi, I'm Scott Sewell, owner and operator of Let's Go Fishin'
Guide Service. Welcome to my website. If you have any questions
please feel free to
email me. I'll be happy to answer any the questions you may
have, however please allow me a couple days to respond. I don't
have email access on my boat yet!
I
started fishing for catfish, perch and other species when I was
old enough to hold a fishing rod. I grew up on a farm that
bordered a creek off of Back River in Baltimore County. I had my
own boat & motor by the time I was 10 years old. I learned to
catch fish, crabs, and turtles in that little creek. As I got
older, I was fortunate to have family members who took me with
them on boats in the Chesapeake Bay in pursuit of other species
of fish, including stripped bass, blues, hardheads, drum,
croakers, etc. I learned to troll, drift and bottom fish, use a
fly rod, surf casters, etc.
When I was old enough to drive, I traveled all over Maryland and
surrounding areas, to fish rivers, farm ponds, reservoirs, the
bay and even beaches in Ocean City & Delaware. As an adult, my
passion for fishing has taken me all over the eastern half of
the U.S., the Atlantic Ocean, and the Gulf of Mexico in pursuit
of everything from trout in little streams to marlin offshore.
I
currently own a 21’ 2004 Nitro 929 bass boat, a 14’ aluminum Jon
boat, a 7’ BPS pond prowler, and a paddleboat. I also own enough
rods & reels, fishing tackle, and boating supplies to open a
small sporting goods store.
I
have attended numerous fishing seminars, taught by local pros
such as Bill Burton, Ken Penrod, Woo Daves, and others to
enhance my skills. I have fished with, and became good friends
with Bill Burton and Ken Penrod.
I
enjoy working with youth, and have participated in many programs
such as “Hooked On Fishing”, “Casting Kids” and am currently a
fishing merit badge counselor with The Boy Scouts of America. I
have volunteered my services at numerous “Casting Kids” events
held at Bass Pro Shops.
I
started hunting as a young man. I have vast experience hunting
for small game and waterfowl in both Maryland and Delaware. One
of my first sources of income was derived from trapping muskrats
when I was a teenager. However, due to my addiction with bass
fishing, my hunting activity has been minimal the past few
years. I own several firearms, and have become proficient in
their handling and operation.
I enjoy
boating, hiking, camping, and just being outdoors. I have
visited most federal and state parks throughout Maryland and the
surrounding area. As a youth, I was active in the Boy Scouts of
America. I attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and received merit
badges in many outdoor activities including: Wildlife
Management, Conservation, Bird Watching, Insect Life, Fishing,
Marksmanship, Camping, Swimming, Lifesaving, etc.
Over the course of my life, I have owned and/or operated several
different types of boats including cabin cruisers, runabouts,
bass boats, and canoes. I have successfully completed the
Maryland Basic Boater Safety Class. In 2004 I attained my U.S.
Coast Guard Captain's license and in 2005 I fulfilled a long time
dream of obtaining my Maryland Guide License!
As
an avid conservationist, I belong to numerous conservation
organizations. I am currently the Conservation Director for the
Maryland Bass Federation. I served as an appointed member of the
Baltimore County Department of Recreation & Parks from 1991
until 1996.
